The Aetherstorm (also known as the Great Tempest) is an arcane maelstrom that has been raging longer than anyone can remember. 

It is a wound in the fabric of reality - a torrent of raw and uncontrolled aetherial magic that violently strips the spirit from the body of all in its path.

By sorceries beyond our comprehension, this scouring tempest is largely contained within the towering pylons of the Storm Corridor. 

For this reason we do not cross the Corridor. There are no storm-warded Sanctuaries within its borders, no protection from its wrath.
